"Experience the Rich History of the Eagle Historical Society: A Professional Guide to the Past"
The Exhibits are currently located in six restored historic buildings dating from the end of the 19th century: James Wickersham's first Courthouse, The Improved Order of Red Men Lodge and four Fort Egbert buildings, all with period furnishings. (Other buildings are under reconstruction) Displays with photographs on the Gold Rush town, military fort and commercial center with judicial, communication, transportation, construction, agriculture, mining, pioneer activities and social organizations, schools, military, customs and Han Athabaskan exhibits. All are located in the Eagle Historic District which is a National Historic Landmark. Museum gift shop offers books, items and crafts of the local area. Tours are scheduled daily from Memorial Day thru Labor Day meeting at 9:00 am at the courthouse. Cost is $10/person with memberships available. Special tours can also be arranged by calling 907 547-2220 or the NPS office at 907 547-2233. Donations are appreciated!
